 As part of the effort to reduce the number of dependencies of `wget`, it
 is proposed to make metalink support in `wget` optional via a variant.

 Currently, `wget` is the only dependent on `libmetalink`, and according to
 [https://ports.macports.org/port/libmetalink/details/ this comment]
 metalink support is disabled on most Linux distributions anyway (in `wget`
 and `curl`), so I'm hoping that there are no ports that indirectly depend
 on `get` having metalink support.
