Comment:

 The kermit port should use the latest stable version, which it already
 does.

 The kermit-devel port offers the latest development version.

 The ticket tracking the build failure of kermit on Sequoia is now #71517.

 The latest stable version is very old, having been released in 2011. You
 might communicate with the developers of kermit to make them aware that
 their latest stable version is unusable in its shipped form and ask them
 to release a new stable version to fix the build failures.
