 That upstream bug is nearly four years old. We were happily building the
 universal variant of harfbuzz @8.5.0 as recently as ten days ago. The
 problem only started after harfbuzz was updated to 10.1.0. What changed
 between 8.5.0 and 10.1.0 to cause this? Maybe it can be reverted or fixed.
