Comment (by aedolphin):

 The suggestion regarding the C++ headers worked.  What is odd is that my
 own C++ code, compiled with /usr/bin/clang++ and the same flags used in
 the port compilation, was able to find and use same headers that MacPorts
 clang couldn't find.
