Comment (by thetrial):

At the moment I can’t try bigger operations due to lack of internet
access. The next few days I’ll try. And I think I’ll try that on another
machine first, though the database there might be in a different state.

Regarding this database I am a bit surprised that DB Browser for SQLite
doesn’t claim it is defective. The first attempt threw something strange
with »Version« … after that an integrity check gave back an OK. Very
 strange.

This machine here is mobile, so a replay from Time Machine is a tricky
matter. Go and find a working copy, where all MP things are (were) in
line. On the stationary machine this is, of course, much easier.

I’d reinstall MP all over, if I had not the big issue with abandoned
programs (better: program versions), a reinstall would omit here wine-
devel and owncloud-client – both essential for me. It would be nice if MC
had a mechanism just to install the last possible version of something
regarding the OS. I guess apt does is that way, but under Darwin this
might be problematic. I really miss some commands to sanitize and heal an
installation. What happened to port doctor?
