 Ideally, sure, but in real life -- probably too many pitfalls to reliably
 do it.

 If configuring macports to install into
 {{{--prefix=/Volumes/RM1_Homes/dallured/port/291}}} fixes things up for
 you (it should) then someone could add that to the documentation as a
 workaround.
