Comment:

 My testing was wrong. That patch, and the 5.1.4 release, do not fix the
 problem.

 The problem occurs for me on macOS 12 when using MacPorts clang-18 but not
 when using Xcode clang. I used MacPorts clang-18 on the original test and
 then forgot to specify that compiler again when retesting with the patch.
