 I have seen the same issue earlier with some ports, and now faced it with
 `gtkwave`. MacPorts installs an app bundle wrapper, which contains a
 simple symlink. However, it crashes on launch. However, launching binary
 directly from terminal works fine, and GTK GUI starts normally.

 An obvious, but perhaps suboptimal solution is to avoid bundle wrappers
 for ppc or, possibly, legacy OS in general. A simpler, but inelegant will
 be to display a notice to a user, advising the way which works.

 It is desirable to find some fix, since otherwise an impression is that
 apps are just broken, but it is not the case.
