Comment:

 the issue is here is that gtk3 on MacPorts cannot build +universal on an
 arm/Intel system.

 That is being tracked in this ticket

 #68112

 So as for advice on how you might actually proceed for now -- frankly --
 just give up on kdelibs4 on an arm Mac on MacPorts.

 It's been more than 3 years and nobody has fixed gtk3 to build universal
 on an M1 system, and even if they did, KDE4 is hopelessly out of date.

 If you instead install UTM (https://mac.getutm.app) which is free, and
 then install debian 12 for arm64, you can install a full KDE5 Plasma setup
 using WayLand in a few minutes that will be much newer in every way and
 will actually work.
