Comment:

 The current Portfile installed overnight on my 10.5 PPC system without
 touching anything, so it looks good to me:

 $ port -v installed py312-matplotlib
 The following ports are currently installed:
   py312-matplotlib @3.5.3_1+cairo+webagg (active) requested_variants=''
 platform='darwin 9' archs='ppc' date='2024-03-23T00:15:29-0700'
 }}}

 If you clean the previous build again, update your ports tree to pull in
 the latest updates, and try again you should be fine.
