 Well -- it's not a bug. It's a feature.

 They don't support older libc++ versions on MacOS, and don't entertain any
 requests to do so.

 so -- SOL there.

 macports-libcxx of a correct vintage might work (have to be newer than the
 one we have now, though, I think).
