 I'm seeing this when building boehmgc-8.2.6_0+universal.darwin_23 on Apple
 M1 and MacPort2 2.9.3.

 /opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_macports_release_tarballs_ports_devel_boehmgc/boehmgc/work
 /destroot-ppc-intel//opt/local/lib/pkgconfig and cannot be merged
