 Yes thanks, applying this patch to the Portfile and reinstalling (to give
 hdf5 @1.14.4.2_1+cxx+fortran+gfortran+hl) seems to have fixed the problem.
 I have to say, I'm a newbie when it comes to patching Portfiles, so I hope
 I did this correctly.
