 As of [16135ad44f04ea64fb45f93471a4ac5856a1a8b6/macports-ports] this data
 tarball is no longer downloaded and extracted at build time so it's
 possible this fixed this problem. On the other hand, it now downloads a
 release tarball; it's possible that the release tarball was created with
 the same method as the data tarball and that you won't be able to extract
 it on Tiger either.
