 although this did build for me recently:

 $ port -v installed cmake-bootstrap
 The following ports are currently installed:
   cmake-bootstrap @3.9.6_0 (active) requested_variants='' platform='darwin
 8' archs='ppc' date='2023-11-18T11:16:51-0800'
 }}}

 when I try to rebuild it now, I get the same error as you.

 I don't presently know what has changed to cause this error. Perhaps we
 can sort it out.
