 I missed the part about `kde-x11` above, and now found those ports in your
 tree. Gonna try those. Practice shows that X11 works nicely generally,
 while Cocoa belongs to a trash bin :)
 (With wxWidgets nothing worked for ages, until I started switching ports
 to wxGTK and added wxGTK-cxx port. Lo and behold, all of a sudden pretty
 much everything works. Given that it is not a ppc-specific issue, AFAIK,
 it looks like whomever were building those either never tried to use them
 or assumed it is broken for their system but works elsewhere, like I did.
 But it is just a bug in Cocoa version of wxWidgets.)
