 two questions:
 1. are you building in trace-mode? I've seen (seemingly) randomly popping
 up errors like this. The issue with trace-mode and Python packages (as far
 as I understand it), is that they will be found but cannot be used. That's
 what could be happening here; if so, try building without trace mode.
 2. do you see the same problem when building the default variant, in other
 words without the {{{gcc14}}} variant?
