 Thanks for the explanation and the roadmap layout. Let me know if I can
 help any with this plan, I'm currently on PHP 8.3 and hope to start using
 8.4 as well ASAP.

 On a related note, how far back, and for how much longer, are you planning
 on supporting older PHP releases? A simple 'port search php' shows matches
 even for 5.3, which, needless to say, goes *very* far & beyond PHP's own
 legacy support!
