 I also had this problem and the e-maryniak suggestion (comment 22) did
 resolve the problem. During the exiftool installation process I did notice
 some peculiar outputs relating to the configuration of gettext, gettext-
 tools-libs and libtextstyle. I do not know enough to understand what was
 output, but I have saved the output for anyone who is interested.

 My device is a MacBookPro, M3, macOS Sequoia 15.1
