 I've just got a real iBook g4, clean Tiger install, all patches applied,
 Xcode installed.

 I've installed MacPorts, then ran `sudo port sync` and it proceeded to run
 portindex.

 The `PortIndex` file was not there, so something is wrong with the
 installer.
 Is there an installer log somewhere?
