Comment (by ryandesign):

 Since your proposed patch changes the files the port installs, increasing
 the revision is mandatory.

 Installing the bindings in a variant is not ideal because ports cannot
 depend on variants of other ports; see #126. Instead, it would be
 preferable to make the bindings available via a subport or separate port.
