 Hi! I was wondering if there had been any progress on this.
 I've noticed this issue for a while, and just did a clean install and am
 still hitting it. It's exactly the same issue - `configure` fails because
 `The GHC at /opt/local/var/macports/.../ghc-8.10.7 failed to compile a
 sanity check`, followed by the LLVM version warning.

 As mentioned earlier, macports has built two `ghc` versions - on a clean
 install, just running `sudo port install git-annex`, it's given me `ghc
 9.6.6` in `/opt/local/bin/ghc`, as well as building a special older
 version for `git-annex`, in
 `/opt/local/var/macports/build/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports
 .org_macports_release_tarballs_ports_devel_git-annex/git-
 annex/work/.home/.stack/programs/aarch64-osx/ghc-8.10.7`.

 If there's any other info I can provide I'm happy to try and help -
 although I do know a fair bit about build systems I unfortunately know
 almost nothing about Haskell...
