 Yes it runs that well but the start (by quartz backend version) from
 terminal not so nice.
 - The menu bars shows on top but nothing is selectable till you first
 select another application then go back to gedit.
 - The segfault crash at close does not occur by me.

 The menu bar problem is not present on macos 10.13 well on 10.15
 (presumably since macos 10.14 version).

 However this all has nothing to to with the initial error on this ticket
 that was only by me due to a different xdg conf setting.

 So I close well the ticket.
