 Also, it's not clear to me from the preceding discussion whether the bug
 happens when creating the archive or when extracting it. If it's on the
 creation side, we could possibly switch to tclllib's tar module for that.
 If it's on the extraction side, we would need to add a HFS compression
 implementation or lose that feature.
