 Can’t really test this at the moment, but it seems that the check is
 defunct. See my comment here:

 No surprise the bug could have gone unnoticed for years, because macros
 check for LE first, which, AFAIU, evaluates as true always, so one never
 gets to BE case.

 P. S. Also the port is terribly outdated, upstream is at 1.10.0.
