 I can sense your frustration over in the AWS issue tracker. The awscli
 team moves very slowly. For example, they haven't signed off on Python
 3.12 support yet. I think it's just internal prioritization, they've been
 lacking in manpower and don't have people to keep awscli clean.

 I will put your patch in macports shortly.
