 Right now, I'm waiting to submit a new port,
 [https://git.sr.ht/~delthas/senpai senpai], until this is fixed.

 My [https://github.com/exprez135/macports-ports/tree/add-senpai branch to
 test senpai] has a commit that simply removes the part of the golang
 portgroup that sets the destroot and errors.

 If that change were to be implemented, as far as I can see, no existing
 port should be effected, since they will all have already manually set the
 destroot instructions.
