 This ticket seems to be a result of ticket #67520, since I receive the
 same error when trying to compile `gh @2.71.2` in Mavericks.

 Is there anyone with sufficient skill in Go that could port certain
 function calls provided by the `legacy-support` port into Go, to allow the
 bootstrapping method that was suggested in
 [https://trac.macports.org/ticket/68700#comment:20 #68700:20], to allow
 newer releases of Go to be ported to older versions of macOS? (This is the
 hidden price of writing the Go compiler in Go.)
