 Please keep a civil tone in MacPorts discussions or moderation action will
 be taken.

 Nothing MacPorts installs is intended to be relocatable by the user.

 There's no intention to allow ports to override the applications
 directory. Ports can feel free to install their applications in a
 subdirectory of the applications directory if that makes sense. Some ports
 already do that.
