 I didn't mean to suggest that a solution was available yet, just to point
 out that we have seen problems with `libcpp_verbose_abort` symbols when
 using newer compilers (like the one required to build poppler) on older
 systems, and that if and when someone figures out how to solve that other
 ticket it may solve your problem as well.
