 KDE4 is not developed anymore, so anything which is KDE4-specific is
 unlikely to get upstream updates.
 However, a) that’s the only KDE MacPorts has at the moment and b) KDE5
 will obviously require Qt5, which is broken on a number of legacy systems
 (until someone fixes it).
