You’ve had a frustrating run building ports +universal on 10.12,
certainly.
Now that you have a self-contained current wine hopefully you can just use
non-universal ports, almost all of which are available as prebuilt
binaries.
You have many open tickets about your various failed builds.
In many cases you’ve been led due to failures to force certain compilers,
etc, and so your system may not be “stock” any longer.
Perhaps over time I/we will see if the ports you had trouble with build OK
+universal for us.
If they do build +universal for me/us, I think we’ll close your tickets
due to your non-standard setup. No doubt, some will probably fail to build
universal still.
Glad you have a working setup. Using the packaged prebuilt wine is also
what I decided to do too. (It is built with MacPorts, but on a dedicated
+universal system, and so avoids all the headaches of maintaining a whole
universal setup yourself).
