 The main reason I'm suspicious is that cross compilation is fiddly and (at
 least in my experience) not all build scripts support it, even though the
 tool chains do. I've found it's the kind of thing the package maintainer
 has to have ensured works. Includes GIMP by the way, no idea if our own
 build scripts handle it. But sounds like it's worth a shot.
