 `MacOSX.sdk` is on my system linked to 15.2. That suggests, as far as I
 can tell, that TeXShop 5.48 probably needs >=MacOSX15.sdk. Your link
 `MacOSX14.5.sdk -> MacOSX.sdk`, was likely the reason for the success.
 Interesting decision to use 15 code unconditionally...  Pin Sonoma to
 TeXShop 5.47 sounds good to me.
