Comment:

 I'm not so sure this is a duplicate. The other ticket's remaining issues
 are specific to arm64.

 The backtrace looks quite strange because `realpath $normalizedPath` is
 failing with "No such file or directory" after `file type $normalizedPath`
 succeeded (that should error if the path doesn't exist). Could you
 possibly add some `ui_debug` statements to `appendEntry` to print out the
 values of `$path` and `$normalizedPath`?
