 Ken, do you seriously mean that verifying whether a patch applies is
 impossible without having a specific compiler or architecture? I can tell
 how to do that then.

 I said nothing about testing ''the build'' with gcc. (And even if someone
 tests it on a libc++ system, it is of little help.)
