#71903: Cannot get C++ compiler set up
-------------------------------------------+--------------------
 Reporter: rsmacleod | Owner: (none)
     Type: defect | Status: new
 Priority: Normal | Milestone:
Component: ports | Version: 2.10.5
Keywords: CXX C++ compiler, M3 Sequoia. | Port:
-------------------------------------------+--------------------
I am running Sequoia 15.2 on a Mini M2 and when I tried to upgrade
outdated ports, I get the error that ports cannot find my C++ compiler:
 :info:configure Error when bootstrapping CMake:
:info:configure Cannot find appropriate C++ compiler on this system.
:info:configure Please specify one using environment variable CXX.
:info:configure See cmake_bootstrap.log for compilers attempted.

This error is for Cmake but the same error happens no make what I try to
update or install. I tried setting CXX to clang but that did not help and
I have never had to set the compiler variable before. Nor do I need to on
other systems, albeit with older processors than this one.

What is going on here and how do I get back to the system setup I once
had? Do I really need to wipe out Macports and start from scratch?
 Thanks,
 Rob
