Comment (by kencu):

 the Finder will copy the SDK into the bundle if you open the two folders
 and just drag it over:

 {{{
 % ls -la
 /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/
 total 0
 drwxr-xr-x  6 root      wheel  192 25 Jan 09:34 .
 drwxr-xr-x  6 root      wheel  192  6 Dec 23:07 ..
 drwxr-xr-x  7 root      wheel  224 21 Nov 00:06 MacOSX.sdk
 drwxr-xr-x  7 cunningh  wheel  224 16 Dec 09:20 MacOSX14.5.sdk
 lrwxr-xr-x  1 root      wheel   10 16 Dec 12:23 MacOSX15.2.sdk ->
 MacOSX.sdk
 lrwxr-xr-x  1 root      wheel   10 16 Dec 12:24 MacOSX15.sdk -> MacOSX.sdk
 }}}

 and Xcode still opens and runs.

 I'm not sure just now about the permissions. You can't change them once
 they are in the bundle, and they get changed when you copy them. Perhaps
 that won't be a problem..
