 With version 3.5.1 the old patch was included upstream. As I had mentioned
 that macOS does not use {{{.so}}} files to the upstream developer. I've
 added {{{$(LDFLAGS)}}} in a simple revised patch.

 I'm somewhat hesitant to touch the {{{-stdlib}}} issue, as the various
 subports specify already these (nonuniformly)
