for PPC that Apple never finished or released that has significant
differences from 10.6 Intel.
Due to the special bootstrapping of fpc, this is probably not relevant.
The point is that for systems below 10.9, the bootstrap compiler is older
and cannot compile the current compiler, but I expect there is a bit more
complex build with intermediate steps. Once this path is established, the
specific OS version and cpu (powerpc, i386, x86_64) may not even require
extra care.
> We have no idea what actually happens on 10.6, so this ticket can’t be
used to make any decisions about fixes or support for the released
versions of 10.6.
As explained above, the path to the current version of fpc would be the
same for any system below 10.9 and what ever has been done so far is
extremely helpful.
> And this same caveat applies to almost all of barracuda’s 750 tickets.
Then, FreePascal and Lazarus are definitely exceptions. Without baracuda's
contributions, both packages would not be where they are today.
