 Which versions of fricas and sbcl?
 Also important: what machine architecture and Operating System version?


 I just installed fricas 1.3.12 with sbcl 2.5.5 on an Intel MacBook Pro, on
 Sonoma 14.7.6 without problems. So I guess you are on Apple Silicon, and
 this could be a problem specific to that architecture.
