 As the MacPorts build bots had a clean build of this version of
 {{{gnuplot}}} for your platform, there is something wrong with the
 toolchain on your machine.

 Is your version of Xcode/command line tools up to date? Did you run
 {{{sudo port selfupdate}}} and {{{sudo port upgrade outdated}}} before
 attempting to install {{{gnu plot}}}?
