Comment:

 The documentation is only specific about this problem for multiple source
 installs. However, the problem exists whenever you rebuild with an
 existing MacPorts installation. The correction closure of this ticket
 should also include modifications to the building from source guide to
 include the PATH override statement. Specially here:
 [https://guide.macports.org/#installing.macports.git] and perhaps
 elsewhere.
