 Indeed the patch related to {{{legacysupport}}} fails to apply; the
 relevant file ({{{scipy/optimize/meson.build}}}) has changed quite a bit.
 I don't have an old system to test this on nor have the time to figure
 this out; if you want to fix this please do and submit a PR to resolve the
 issue.
