 Why is the big endian check failing with GCC 4? Is it because of the
 [https://code.videolan.org/videolan/x264/-/blob/stable/configure?ref_type=heads#L1040
 `-fno-lto`]? See if it works without.

 The project comes with a `config.guess` script. Does that give the correct
 result for the triplet?
