 well, the workaround seems not to be working as easily as explained...
 It's not immediatly working for me (if ever).

 Uninstalling freetype and trying to install it with +universal triggered
 similar errors than the original one, but for things depending on freetype
 now... And so on with connected/(depending?) ports...

 I think I'd better start the whole macports installation from 0, now
 keeping an eye on +universal...
