 Whether or not `-q` is supported wouldn't depend on architecture but on
 the version of tar. Configure scripts work by inspecting the features of
 your system. Cross compiling on a machine with different capabilities is
 likely to result in problems, so please run the configure script and build
 on the machine where you will run MacPorts, not on a machine with
 different properties.
