 Sorry, I went too far back in my log; I had 2.10.7 installed, but tried a
 self update again:
 rsc at phoebe ~ % sudo port selfupdate
 Password:
 --->  Checking for newer releases of MacPorts
 MacPorts base version 2.10.7 installed,
 MacPorts base version 2.10.7 available.

 and this time the sudo port upgrade outdated install boost176 correctly?
 Apparently with python313:
 rsc at phoebe ~ % sudo port upgrade outdated
 --->  Computing dependencies for boost176
 --->  Fetching archive for boost176
 --->  Attempting to fetch
 boost176-1.76.0_14+no_single+no_static.darwin_24.arm64.tbz2 from
 https://packages.macports.org/boost176
 --->  Attempting to fetch
 boost176-1.76.0_14+no_single+no_static.darwin_24.arm64.tbz2.rmd160 from
 https://packages.macports.org/boost176
 --->  Installing boost176 @1.76.0_14+no_single+no_static

 Not sure why a second self update fixed it.
