Comment:

 FWIW, I don’t have access to to ppc hardware or a lot of interest in an OS
 release last patched 17 years ago. If you (or another volunteer) has a
 patch that will make things work, I’m happy to apply it, but I can’t help
 in creating it. Feel free and reopen this with a patch if you find a
 solution.
