 on MacOS 10.11 El Capitan I get "meld requires gtksourceview 4.0 or
 higher".
 On 10.13 and 10.15 it works.

 but I have:
 {{{
   gtksourceview4 @4.8.4_0+quartz
   gtksourceview4 @4.8.4_1+quartz (active)
 }}}

 and I still think 4.8 > 4.0 so something else is wrong.
